Baby reflexology is a very gentle therapy that uses light pressure on specific points of a baby’s feet to support relaxation, comfort, and overall wellbeing. Because a baby’s nervous system is still developing, calm, nurturing touch can have a powerful soothing effect.
Here are some of the main benefits:
✸ Encourages Better Sleep
Many parents notice their babies settle more easily and sleep more soundly after reflexology. The calming touch helps regulate the nervous system and encourages relaxation before naps or bedtime.
✸ Helps Relieve Colic and Digestive Discomfort
Specific reflex points on the feet relate to the stomach, intestines, and digestive system. Gentle reflexology techniques can help ease symptoms such as colic, trapped wind, constipation and reflux.
✸ Supports Relaxation and Emotional Calm
Babies can experience overstimulation just like adults. Reflexology helps soothe the nervous system, encouraging a calm and settled baby.
✸ Strengthens the Parent–Baby Bond
One of the most beautiful aspects of baby reflexology is the bonding experience. The focused, loving touch helps parents connect deeply with their baby and builds trust and security.
✸ Supports the Immune System
By encouraging relaxation and improving circulation, reflexology may support the body’s natural healing processes and overall wellbeing.
✸ Eases Teething Discomfort
Certain reflex points relate to the head and jaw area. Gentle techniques can help reduce tension and discomfort associated with teething.
✸ Improves Circulation
Light stimulation of the feet encourages healthy circulation and energy flow throughout the body.
✸ Helps Parents Feel More Confident
Learning simple reflexology techniques gives parents practical tools they can use at home to comfort their baby during common challenges like tummy pain, restlessness, or teething.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
You will need a relevant Anatomy & Physiology qualification to gain insurance for this course. I can recommend a course when you join. If you are a qualified Reflexologist, Massage or Beauty therapist or a nurse/midwife you are all set without taking an additional A&P course.
